Can you believe it has now been almost three months since COVID-19 hit Portugal, like us, I am sure you have all missed the get together's and socialising? But, there are still plenty of safe ways to celebrate all of life's moments
Here at ARW Events we feel that birthday celebrations and special events should still be celebrated. Memories still to be made with our nearest and dearest, perhaps we need to celebrate now more than ever, of course while following all Portuguese Government guidelines!
Focusing on the positives during these uncertain times in our all of our lives, one being the reduced guest count creating more intimacy and allowing you to spend more quality time with your guests. Essentially as the majority of events are now becoming Micro, allowing you to splurge on what is important to you.
We were thrilled when our Client re connected with us, sharing her postponement inspiration and plans. Picture, sitting at a dinner party with an explosion of colour above and surrounding you. Beautiful vibrant shades of Pink, Red, Orange, Gold, Blue and Green – layer this with an amazing floral scent washing over you in the late afternoon breeze.
Ensuring all safety precautions were adhered to, the new form of hospitality facing us all, we decided that it would be best to host the dinner party outside so we secured a stunning private villa situated in the Algarve countryside, surrounded by rolling mountains.
With such beautiful scenic countryside we wanted to continue that beauty through into the table setting, making the main point of focus of the event design, the flowers, ''more is more'' was definitely the look and feel we planned for when designing the floristry.
The breath taking hanging ceiling arrangement which consisted of Bougainvillea, Lemonium, Sweet William, Snap Dragon , Gypsophila, Carnations, Mimosa Branches and Pistachio Stems.
In between the romantically draped ceiling were glass balls with electronic candles, creating a comfortable environment as the sultry evening arrived.
To ensure we brought the countryside into the villa the surrounding pillars were draped with 7ft floral garlands.
The concept of the table scape design, was also in line with the ceiling treatment.
We used several miniature glass vases, all differing in shape and style filled with a variety of field flowers. As the show stopper in this design was the super creative floristry display, we decided to keep the flatware as simple and clean cut as possible, with gold charger plates, dusty pink water goblets alongside the white linen.
The menu was a delicious variety of Indian cuisine, lovingly cooked with the thousands of spices that you can expect within each dish, accompanied by local Portuguese Red and White wine's.
As event planners we are in the business of celebration and we could not think of a better way to celebrate a 50th birthday party surrounded by the positivity of flowers!
