Boho Wedding in the Algarve, Portugal

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

Anna and Will's celebrated their boho wedding in Monchique, a town in the Algarve affectionately named ''Jardim do Algarve'', mainly due to its rolling hills, natural spring waters, and healing powers dating back to the Roman era.

Anna and Will met while backpacking through Australia, and Will knew Anna was the one when he saw her happily dancing to Abba!

While exploring Stockholm, Will proposed to Anna. Since they both have a strong love for traveling, they knew a destination wedding would be perfect for them.

From the very beginning, the couple's vision was a rural setting, a bohemian design in a very relaxed atmosphere.

Together we toured clifftop venues overlooking the ocean, but after traveling to Monchique, the decision was made right there and then to have a bespoke mountain wedding.

However, the couple did have lots of fun meeting the photographer on the beach for a pre-shoot!

They decided on light shades of pink, green, and white; this worked very well for the ceremony, creating a subtle boho theme in a natural and earthy way.

The dark wood and leather bounded chairs helped to create the wild and beautiful symbolic ceremony. We achieved this design using a macrame curtain for the ceremony arch surrounded by pampas grass, protea flowers, and eucalyptus leaves.

Anna and Will decided on a BBQ buffet for their wedding breakfast, a delicious and creative combination of traditional Portuguese and British cuisine with mouth-watering desserts.

Eco-friendly envelopes containing sunflower seeds ''let love grow'' were their wedding favors for their guests.

To incorporate their love for travel into the theme, we designed a map of the countries they have visited together as their seating chart and table names.

The wedding cake was a work of art, a bold and beautifully designed silver birch tree with the couple's initials etched within a heart!

The yummy cake filling: Vanilla with cream cheese, coconut sponge with cream cheese, and lemon with base tier being red velvet and creme cheese.

How can you have a boho wedding without a VW camper van?

Not only is it a beautiful way to transport your bridal party but also a great photoshoot opportunity and fun for your guests.

Anna and Will's wedding in Portugal ended on a high with dancing into the night with their loved ones.

Anna's favorite moment was walking down the aisle, seeing all her loved ones who have flown to Portugal to be with her on her special day. With the magical addition of the surrounding tree's singing to her.

Will's favorite detail of the day was the bespoke cigar and whiskey bar created especially for him with Cuban cigars for him and his groomsmen to enjoy!
